What it does

Agent mode APIs: The Agent mode APIs for Genie Agents are now generally available. Run Agent mode programmatically to integrate it into your own applications, such as chatbots, scheduled reports, and internal tools. Unity Catalog functions as agent tools: Agent authors can now attach both scalar and table valued Unity Catalog functions as tools for a Genie Agent.

Why it matters

Improve Genie Agent accuracy and reliability by adding example SQL queries, Unity Catalog functions, plain text instructions, and knowledge store snippets (table descriptions, JOIN relationships, and SQL expressions for business semantics).
